Fully gluten free bakery with some vegan items. Unfortunately, they have very limited vegan offerings. They offer a wide variety of baked goods: bread, cookies, donuts, bagels, pies, cinnamon rolls, empanadas, sandwiches, cupcakes, cookies, cakes. They also offer frozen doughs and breads. I’d recommend asking the staff which items are vegan, as it can be a little confusing. Must try for anyone visiting Oakland. Hopefully they add more vegan options soon.

My GO-TO bakery. For like EVERYTHING. For 7 years straight. My faves: the fruit/cheese danish, the cheese scone, the buttermilk biscuits, the cheesecake, I mean, my bday cake was from here. Kinda pricey, ngl. But very worth it. If you are gluten-free & want tasty baked goods. They also now have a stuffed bacon, egg and cheese bagel that’s amazing. Follow me on IG: @freshdotdaily

I had not been at Mariposa for a while and I was reminded how good it always is! 🙂 Ideal for my diet restrictions. Besides the California sandwich on open baguette (shown in the picture), it is hard to resist to chocolate croissants, bagels and other pastries! The prices have like everywhere increased quite a bit! $6.50 for a chocolate croissant is ...... luxury! To be noted, senior discount being offered. 🙂 The seating is unfortunately very limited inside with two tables outside that are basically in the alley with cars passing by very close so not very conducive to a healthy and comfortable on-site dining experience.

I love this place where everything is gluten free! I buy fresh, hot food & get a bag of goodies to go home with! This location is so much easier to find & get to than their ferry building location!

3.5⭐️ Selection: insane, prices kinda high even for gf but not atypical..but doesn’t match the taste, which was only ok. There must be over 60 different gf items in this bakery! Some are other packeged brands, most are theirs. We tried a few things and they were ok good but nothing I need to return for. I’m a decent cook/baker so I know how good gf bakes can taste. I will say the vibe and setting is GREAT. Lovely spot with some seating indoors and out and an airy design. The white bread🍞was pretty good but again, a pretty straight forward gf bread. The best selling cinnamon bun🥮wasn’t as moist as I’d expected given moist is one thing gf CAN do well. It was a bit cakey and the icing was too sweet. I realized it was just a sugar icing vs the classic and expected, WAY tastier cream cheese style icing. That was a big miss for me which could’ve made this scrummy, as Mary Barry would say😉 Of course prices as elevated for the gf part and most seem pretty on par with the market. Bigger things like full cakes and cobbler trays were overpriced I thought. Check it out once.
